Wendell & Wild

 Welcome to my portfolio for the Netflix original “Wendell & Wild” film. I had the pleasure of working in the puppet paint department for this film. My position required an assortment of face, costume, and silicone paintings as well as color design for the characters.

Hero Punk Kat maquette, painted by me.

Punk Kat; I painted the hero maquette to create her facial features and skin tone color design. For the puppet, I painted her silicone boots, hands, belts, molded earrings, and 3-D printed scalp hair gradients.

Bearzebub; I painted the distressed patches of the fur and the overall aging of the costume using a mixture of pastels and acrylic paint.

Young Kat; for the puppet, I painted her silicone boots, hands, neck, 3-D printed scalp hair and earring.

Irmgard; I painted the hero maquette to create her facial features and skin tone color design. For the puppet, I painted her silicone neck, arms, hands, dress, and legs. Also her metal molded accessories I painted with acrylic. The earrings were 3D printed studs that I painted as a marbled effect using acrylic paint with metal dangles attached.

Undead Wilma; I painted the hero maquette to create her facial features and skin tone color design. For the puppet, I painted her silicone dress, shoes, legs, hands, and neck. The white cuff and pleat of her dress are fabric, which I dirtied by airbrushing Copic marker. I also painted her pearl earrings that were 3-D printed with the ears.

I glued iron-on fabric adhesive to Wilma’s silicone dress to imitate cobwebs, blending with paint.
